just a few more days in the lower 48...

For those of you who may not know, I'm headed up to Alaska this summer to work for Holland America/Princess Rail Services - I'll be working as a cook on board a tour train that runs from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Just three days ago I had commencement here at GC and tomorrow I'm heading out to make my way towards Kansas before going up to AK. The end of the semester and graduation came really quickly, and now I can't believe that it's time for me to leave already. Goshen has been my hometown for 21 of my 23 years of life, and this time I'm leaving pretty indefinitely, which feels very odd. At the same time, I'm thrilled to be traveling to Alaska - and to have found such a cool job no less.
During the summer I'll do by best to update this blog and post some stories and pictures about what I've been up to. I know that I'll be working a lot, but I also can't wait to explore the amazing landscapes of The Last Frontier. Until next time...when I'll probably be in Anchorage.
